I worked hard in high school and kept my GPA and involvement high. However, UMW is no Ivy League. If you are a competitive student you should have no problem gaining admission at the University of Mary Washington. In fact, even if your GPA dipped to the 3.0 area through high school, UMW recently lowered admissions standards to increase the size of the student population, so you may be in luck.

Well I had a high GPA in high school and was very involved with lots of clubs. I would recommend getting great recommendations. I don't think the SATS matter so much, they are just so high because a lot of the students are rejected from The College of William and Mary, and The University of Virginia. I know some students that got reject from JMU and VT but still got into UMW, which can bring up from controversy.
